An accelerated AUTOCAD 2008 drafting and design course
is available on Saturdays, from 9am - 1pm at Brevard Community
College, Cocoa Campus, 1519 Clearlake Road.

AutoCAD, which is offered by the BCC Institute for Business Training
and Community Education, will be presented to assist architects,
civil and/or structural engineers to increase efficiency and ability to
rapidly produce computerized drawings and designs.

Students will learn to create, develop and complete a sophisticated
AutoCAD project. The program is available for the beginner, wanting
to gain insight or an experienced user wanting to master technical
concepts and techniques for this drafting and design program
that has become the industry standard. The cost is $385, which
includes materials. Pre-registration plus knowledge of drafting &

“Marketing and Publicizing on a Small Budget”
6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Jean Newell, president of Newco, will share ideas on how to
obtain free publicity and will offer marketing tips for how to keep
your product or service in demand for a long time. Her 25 years of
marketing and real estate development promotion experience
earned her the know-how to create and market her own invention,
the personal utility pouch (PUP). She now offers the PUP on the
QVC channel where she has made 35 appearances as the guest
inventor and sold over $1.5 million in PUPs.

Her presentation will include how to trade expensive ads for free
publicity, tips to increase your Web site popularity, the three things
you never ask a reporter, how to get other people to pay for your
marketing, how to define your marketing campaign, and what you
can do immediately to kick-start your publicity.

The guest speaker, Florida Tech College of Business faculty member
Carolyn Fausnaugh, Ph.D., will discuss “Going the Distance:
Business ideas vs. Business Opportunities”.

Fausnaugh, an assistant professor of strategy and new ventures,
conducts workshops and seminars nationally. Her entrepreneurial
and financial management career spans more than 40 years. She
has advised hundreds of companies ranging from small start-ups to
IBM. Her consulting has been in such areas as strategy, financial
growth and management, including managing cash flow, taxation,
corporate infrastructure and investor relations. She has founded
and sold two companies.

The goal of Networking for Women is to guide and support
women in building professional relationships aimed at career
